Finding a nappy to last 10+ hours overnight is not an easy task. However, there are now many choices available and they all have their own unique style and combination of materials. Some of the nappies specifically designed for night-time use include the Sandman, Wild Child Dreamy Night Nappy, Very Baby Simply Nights and Bubblebub's very own Good Night Sleep Tight (GNST).
The GNST has a number of features to enhance its performance as a night nappy. The use of snaps for example, allows for a snug and correct fit every time by allowing you to adjust the tightness of the nappy both around the legs and also the waist/hips. When doing up the nappy, make sure the inner fleece is rolled inwards, in order to reduce the chance of leaking. Hemp and bamboo are fantastic moisture absorbers, but when they are in direct contact with a child’s skin for a prolonged period of time, this exposure to moisture can lead to nappy rash. The fleece inner of the GNST acts to wick moisture away from your baby's skin, thus keeping them feeling dry and comfortable overnight and helping to prevent nappy rash.
The GNST is the only nappy available that has both internal and external snap on boosters. Every GNST comes with two boosters that lie in the wet-zone - one snaps inside the nappy and one snaps to the exterior of the nappy. The placement and snaps on these boosters allows for additional boosting to be added between them and the nappy's wet-zone, without the worry of any of the boosters moving around.
When boosting a nappy for a heavy wetter, a trifold booster is the best option. A trifold is a large piece of fabric, usually composed of two layers of fabric overlocked together, which is then sewn into three distinct rectangles - this allows it to be folded into three even pieces. There is no need to fold it any more than this as this may actually over-boost the nappy and reduce its effectiveness. When a trifold booster is placed under both the inner and outer boosters of a GNST it can outlast even the heaviest of wetters!
